IT Consulting. Clarity. Strategy. Results.
Fixed-scope engagements. Every one ends with something you can use.
Not every business needs monthly managed services. Sometimes you need a clear answer: how secure is my network, what shape is my infrastructure actually in, or is this AI thing real for a business my size?
That's what these engagements are. Fixed price, defined scope, and a deliverable you can hand to your team, your board, or your next IT provider. No slide decks that say "it depends." No open-ended billable hours.
How I Work
My background is a bit unusual for IT — 15 years across aerospace, medical tech, and Manitoba government technology procurement before running KEF Solutions. I hold my SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) designation. That means I look at your technology the way a business operator does: what it costs, what it risks, and what it should actually be doing for you — not just whether the blinking lights are green.
I run everything I recommend myself. I document my own monitoring stack, firewall, automation, and backups publicly on this site. You're not getting theory.
What's Here
Each engagement below has its own scope, price, and deliverable. Every one starts the same way: a free 30-minute discovery call, so we both know it's a fit before money moves.
Who This Fits
Small and mid-sized businesses in Manitoba — typically 5 to 50 staff — that need expert eyes on a specific problem without hiring a full-time IT person or signing a retainer they don't need yet.
Not sure which engagement you need? Book the discovery call and just tell me what's bugging you.

Infrastructure Audit — $999
Know exactly what you're running, what shape it's in, and what it's going to cost you if you ignore it. Most small businesses inherit their IT — a server someone set up years ago, a network that grew one cable at a time, backups nobody's tested. This audit gives you the full picture in plain English.
What I Do
Server & Hardware Review – Physical inspection of your servers, workstations, network switches, and storage. Age, warranty status, capacity, and what's living on borrowed time.
Network Assessment – Full map of your network: how devices connect, where the bottlenecks are, whether your Wi-Fi and wired setup actually fit how your team works.
Firewall & Security Configuration Review – Deep look at your firewall rules, remote access, and network segmentation. I've been a Sophos partner for about 15 years — this is my home turf.
Backup & Recovery Verification – Not just "do backups run" but "can they actually restore, and how fast." I test it.
Microsoft 365 & Cloud Review – Licenses you're paying for and not using, security settings that shipped wrong, and whether your cloud setup matches your business.
Documentation Package – Everything mapped and written down. Network diagram, asset list, credentials inventory. If your IT knowledge currently lives in one person's head, this fixes that.
What You Walk Away With
A prioritized report – What's fine, what's at risk, what's urgent. Ranked by real business impact, not tech jargon.
A 90-day action plan – Quick wins first, bigger fixes scheduled, rough costs attached so you can budget.
Honest recommendations – I hold a Supply Chain Management Professional designation and spent years in government technology procurement. I'll tell you what to buy, what to skip, and when a vendor is overcharging you.
No sales pitch attached – The report is yours. Fix it yourself, hand it to another provider, or hire me. The audit stands on its own.
How It Works
Free 30-minute discovery call to scope your environment
On-site assessment at your Winnipeg-area business (typically half a day)
Report delivered within one week, walked through together
Built for small businesses with 2–20 staff who've never had their IT properly documented — or who are about to make a big technology decision and want to know what they're standing on first.

Everyone says AI will transform your business. Almost nobody can show you a working example running in a real small business. I can — because I run my own operation on it. Automated ticket triage, monitoring digests, client reporting, lead follow-up: real workflows doing real work every day, and I document them publicly on this site.
This engagement finds where AI actually fits in your business — and builds the first working piece before I leave.
What I Do
Workflow Mapping Session – Half-day working session with you and your team. We map how work actually flows through your business: intake, scheduling, quoting, invoicing, follow-up, reporting.
Opportunity Identification – I flag where automation and AI genuinely save hours versus where it's hype. Repetitive data entry, email triage, report generation, appointment reminders — the boring stuff is where the money is.
Working Prototype Build – We don't end with a slide deck. I build one working automation during the engagement, connected to your real tools — Microsoft 365, your accounting software, your booking system — so you see it run before I'm out the door.
Privacy & Data Review – What data can safely touch AI tools, what can't, and how to keep client information where it belongs. Especially important for businesses handling sensitive customer records.
Tool Selection Without the Markup – Vendor-neutral recommendations grounded in procurement experience. What to pay for, what has a free tier that's plenty, and what's just a subscription trap.
Implementation Roadmap – Prioritized 90-day plan: what to automate next, in what order, and what each piece roughly costs to build and run.
What You Walk Away With
One working automation, live in your business
A written roadmap your team can execute with or without me
Clear cost picture – Monthly running costs for everything recommended, no surprises
A realistic view – If AI isn't ready to help a specific part of your business, the report says so. I'd rather tell you the truth than sell you a robot.
